Venue improvement projects

There are currently multiple works projects underway at HBF Arena as we work to improve the venue for all our members and visitors.

Refurbishment of the 50m pool

Works will commence July 2023 and plan are to reopen the pool in 2025. All the details are available here.

Gym reception renovation

A brand new reception desk is being built and is due to be completed in late June. Further info can be found  here.

New bathroom facilities being built for netball and hockey

The new bathroom facilities will include universally accessible toilets and service members of the community using the netball courts and hockey pitch. Construction has commenced and the new facilities are expected to be opened in September. Read the news item here.

Lift upgrade

Maintenance is scheduled for 30 October to mid December 2023 to remove and replace the existing lift at HBF Arena. There may be some loud noise during the first two weeks. Signage will be in place to direct lift users to Level 1 via the West Perth lift. Thank you for your understanding.

External venue painting

Painting on external areas of the building are underway with the program nearing completion.

Electric vehicle charging stations

Two EV charging stations are being installed in the car park opposite the main entry. We expect that these stations will be operating by the end of July.

Solar heating

Solar matting is being installed on the roof to contribute to the heating of the pools.

We recognise that these works are likely to cause some inconvenience when visiting HBF Arena and we are working hard to minimise the disruption to your regular activities. Thank you for your support and understanding as we complete these important upgrades to the venue.
